The International Furniture Exhibition
Opening the International Furniture Exhibition, Bubalo said that the company already had an organized manufacturing base in Serbia, and that it’s arrival would increase competition on the market.
Bubalo added that the exhibition was an opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to learn about new trends in production and design technology, as well as to assess their competitors’ products.
The minister spoke with IKEA President Hans-Goran Stennert in June, whereupon it was announced that the company’s plan was to, besides a large retail center in Belgrade, extend their sales network to Serbia’s other major cities.
President Boris Tadić also spoke to the Swedish company’s representatives on that occasion and supported their plans to invest in Serbia. He said that Serbia, given its geographic location, its CEFTA membership, its investor-friendly environment, competitive prices and logistical expenses, was the “logical choice“ for the company.
