Textile turnover may rise to USD 150 Bln in 2023,Tuzmen
Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said today he believed Turkey's textile and ready-made clothing turnover would climb to USD150 billion in 2023, Anadolu news agency reports. "Turkey is in the eighth place in world textiles, and the fourth in ready-to-wear industry," Tuzmen said at the inauguration ceremony of the 11th International Fashion Fair in Istanbul. Tuzmen said Turkey's textile exports were up 17 percent and ready-made clothing exports were up 16 percent in 2007. Turkey earned USD9.5 billion from textile exports, and USD13 billion USD from ready-to-wear exports last year," he said. As many as 250 firms are participating in the fair which will run until February 9.
