Dutch outfit eyes Bulgarian cable co CableTEL
Dutch-registered Wild Mountain Holding has notified to the Bulgarian anti-trust authority its intentions to establish indirect individual control of CableTEL, the Bulgarian cable TV, Internet and voice company, and connected company Vicom Bulgaria.
The notification implies that Wild Mountain is seeking to gain control of the undertakings that own the two Bulgarian companies.
'There can be no talk of a deal or an ownership change but simply an internal reshuffling of the CableTEL holding structure,' CableTEL executive director told Dnevnik..
According to company registration database Daksi, CableTEL EAD and Vicom Bulgaria are both wholly-owned by British investment fund Ramford Alliance Ltd.
Bulgaria's Commission for the Protection of Competition said the notified changes will impact several market segments: cable TV, Internet access, voice telephony and leased lines.
'We are continuing with the cable market consolidation and will soon announce news about our business in Serbia,' said Radev.
The cable company has secured the exclusive rights to air two sports and movie channels. 'These two genres are the mainstays of the cable market,' said Radev.
