Textile producers left without work
For more than 2 weeks, a hundred employees in textile industries in eastern Macedonia have been going to work occasionally, and total production since the beginning of this year decreased by 20 percent. Owners of factories say that 50,000 persons will lose their jobs unless the Macedonian Government reduces taxes for employees at the time when they are facing a crisis because of reduced orders from abroad. According to them, Macedonian textile products became uncompetitive since the European Union abolished quotas for import from eastern countries. This situation has been present for some time now.
