Bulgaria's textile industry Grows 4% in January-June 2008
Bulgaria's textile production grew between 3,5% and 4% in the first half of 2008, announced Valeriya Zhekova Thursday, who is the Chair of the Bulgarian Association of Apparel and Textile Producers and Exporters.
According to Zhekova, this data demonstrated that the Bulgarian textile industry is preserving its competitiveness despite the crisis in the European and global market, and the internal problems in the field.
Over 92% of Bulgaria's textile manufacturing is destined for exports in the EU and other European countries.
The country's textile exports were worth EUR 1,9 B in 2007, and have a positive trade balance of EUR 300 M.
