700 workers on strike at KTK Visoko
Around 700 workers of the leather and textile multi-plant Visoko (KTK Visoko) started general strike yesterday, demanding the payment of contributions and back salaries, privatization and employment contracts.
As the president of their union said, they have been without health insurance for ten years, there have been no individual employment contracts for the past four, and the management keeps avoiding collective bargaining. Ramiz Osmanovic claims the management owes around BAM 3 million for back salaries. They see privatization as the only solution.
A meeting with management and supervisory boards and representatives of the FBiH industry ministry and the Privatization Agency is supposed to take place this Friday, October 24.
