Oltchim employees give up protests
The unionists from Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea announced yesterday that they renounce the protest actions after the union and the employers’ association concluded a contract through which they established measures for the social protection of the people and for the mitigation of the effects of the crisis, Mediafax informs. According to the president of Oltchim Free Union, Mihai Diculoiu, it was agreed that the unit will not lay off employees and will not cut the salaries. The unionist leader said that the union and the employers’ association agreed that if it is not possible to maintain all the 3,800 employees of the plant, they will renounce those who are close to pensioning age. If the restructurings are made in the functional services and in the transport section, where there are many employees, the people will be transferred to other sections of the plant.
