Holcim buys into aggregates maker
Swiss company Holcim, which operates the cement mills in Beli Izvor and Pleven, has acquired a stake in Pazardjik-based aggregates maker Vris, the company said. The transaction was executed by Holcim Quarry Materials, a subsidiary of the concern, which has gained majority ownership in Vris. The company did not provide financial details about the deal but said it is aimed to serve as a springboard for the new market near the southern town as well as firm up its positions in Plovdiv and Sofia regions. Vris holds concessions on three fields near Pazardjik, which have been developed for more than six years.
