MCSI wants EUR 84 M rerouted to e-Romania project
The Ministry of Communications and Information Society (MCSI) would like to allocate EUR 84 M of the EU funds meant to finance the development of the broadband infrastructure to the e-Romania project, e-Romania project head in the ministry Toma Campeanu said on Wednesday. ‘We are trying to allocate EUR 84 M to the e-Romania project, because we have identified an interest among operators in what concerns the expansion of the access to broadband internet in the entire territory. The project development strategy spans from 2010 to 2013, but the process as such will not be over in 2013. We have good use of the EUR 84 M, we are very much behind the European Union in the area of e-governance,’ Campeanu is quoted by Mediafax as saying during a specialised seminar. He also added that almost 170 services within the e-Romania project would become operational in 2010 and 2011.
