OCK to upgrade lead production
Bulgaria’s Kardjali-based lead and zinc company OCK got the green light by the Ministry of Environment to go ahead with its first lead capacity upgrade project. The announcement was made by Roberto Mladenov, executive director of OCK owner Intertrust Holding. The EUR 45 million project, involving the deployment of an environment friendly lead production technology, should be completed within two years. The company further plans to amp up lead production capacity to 60,000 tonnes per year. OCK is currently busy upgrading its zinc production capacity. The company’s product range includes zinc sulphate, bismuth, cadmium, sodium bisulphite, zinc alloys, battery scrap treatment, lead-antimony alloys, selenium and calcium alloys for storage battery industry, among others.
