Former military barracks in Tuzla becomes university campus

Former Barracks “Husein-captain Gradascevic” officially became Campus of University in Tuzla yesterday. Barracks “Husein-captain Gradascevic” was given to Tuzla Canton on July 23 2009 at session of Government of FBiH. Then the first pre-requisite was created for building the campus, because the Barracks was proclaimed unperspective for Armed Forces of BiH.

Commission for state property of BiH issued a decision which puts complex of the barracks on University’s disposal, which enabled adaptation of infrastructure for university’s needs to be done, campus to be built and to adjust current Barracks to needs of students and professors.

Minister of Defense of BiH Selmo Cikotic thinks there is no better investment in future of one people than to invest in education.

Prime Minister of FBiH Mustafa Mujezinovic emphasized at the takeover ceremony that Tuzla and youth of Tuzla have an opportunity to build a temple of knowledge and science which needs to be taken care of in the future.

Campus includes 12.000 square meters of useful space, for which the concept design had already been made for.
