DSS petitions against Telekom sale
Minister of Culture, Information and Information Society Predrag Markovic received Tuesday a Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) petition with 103,000 signatures against the sale of Telekom Serbia, a government owned telecommunications company.
The ministry stated they were not in charge of the sale, but that the task had been given to a government working group. Markovic told DSS representatives he would inform the rest of the government about the petition.
The minister believes the petition will be taken into account, just like the interest of the remaining 7.3 million people, including 4.8 million who are entitled to free shares of government companies and close to 10,000 Telekom employees, says the release.
The DSS has also addressed Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, requesting that the Telekom sale be put on the parliament agenda.
