Greece to begin talks with individual bondholders
Greece’s Finance ministry is setting up a commission to examine the possibilities to compensate individual bond holders from losses suffered after a Greek state bond haircut last year.
Ministry sources said that Finance Alternate Minister Christos Staikouras was expected to meet with representatives of individual bondholders on Friday. The two sides met for the first time in December 20 to discuss the issue. Ministry sources said that an idea was to examine offering tax breaks to bondholders, but noted that any solution should be approved by the European Commission.
