Richest Greek returns home to make investments
Not too many people in Greece have heard of the richest Greek Filaretos Kaltsidis who is considering a serious investment in his home country. His name is widely mentioned by members of the Greek government with regard to his intentions to raise the shareholders’ capital of the National Bank of Greece. Having strong connections in the Russian Kremlin as well as links with representatives of the Greek government, Caltsidis is believed to be a friend of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Greek Premier Antonis Samaras. The 50 year-old man who is also known as the “Cement King” has a dual citizenship-a Russian and a Greek one. His fortune is estimated on over USD 6.7 billion.
