Kolubara reports RSD1.5 billion in profits by mid-year

Kolubara mining complex GM Milorad Grcic said on Sept. 29 that the company had posted RSD1.5 billion in mid-year profits, stressing that it was ready for the winter season and that was no cause for concern either on the part of the EPS power company or citizens.

In a written statement, Grcic noted that oil thefts has been reduced to a minimum, in addition to the regulation of the mine's tender documents, while rationalization measures had been introduced at every level, along with the mine's constant upgrades of work protection standards and job conditions at the mine.

Grcic further said that he was particularily proud of the reintegration of Kolubara Metal with the Kolubara complex, in association with the power company, and the launch of the Radljevo pit project, which was conceived in 1978.

He stressed that no one had the right to interfere with the operation of investigative bodies, in response to a string of recent arrests at the complex.
