China will set up a CNY 200 million (about EUR 25 million) fund to support cooperation with Serbia in the mining sector, Chinese Land and Resources Minister Jiang Daming has said.

Jiang has announced the establishment of the fund during a meeting with Serbian Minister of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning Milan Bacevic, who is on an official visit to China, according to China Radio International.

The Chinese minister put forward the proposal to foster a high level dialogue and improve exchange of opinions, information, technological knowledge and also staff, all with the aim of improving the work of mining enterprises.

Minister Jiang added that the fund will be getting bigger as the mining cooperation between the two countries grows.

Minister Bacevic has addressed a gathering of about 400 ministers and representatives of the world's leading mining companies from 50 countries in Tianjin.

Bacevic pointed out that the door of Serbia's mining sector is open for investment, noting that there are about 50 companies mining ores and exploring for ore bodies in the country.
