First phase of building IT Park in Indjija completed
The first phase of construction of the Embassy Techzones IT Park, a EUR 10 million investment for Indian real estate developer Embassy Group spanning an area of 10,000 square meters in Indjija, northern Serbia, was completed on Wednesday.
A celebration to mark the end of the first construction stage was attended by Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic and Minister of State for External Affairs of India Preneet Kaur.
Mrkic said that the greenfield investments is a strong signal to other Indian investors and their business partners across the world that Serbia is a safe destination for their investment.
"Building the IT Park is an important moment for the development of the local information technology capacity and it lays the foundation for Serbia's regional role in this sector," Mrkic said.
Kaur said that India wants to share its knowledge with Serbia and invest in the country to help boost the development of Serbian economy.
The Indian diplomat said that the investment in the IT Park in Indjija is India's biggest investment in Serbia and one of the biggest investments by her country in the region of southeastern Europe.
We want Serbia to achieve in the region that which India has achieved in the world in the field of information technology, Kaur said, adding that India's goal is for the technological park in Indjija to become the biggest in southeastern Europe.
Embassy Techzones General Director Ramgopal Narayanan said he is confident that the technological park will become the biggest in the region and bring leading IT companies together.
The IT Park in Indjija is on its way to becoming a high-tech, self-sustaining, completely safe non-conventional corporate space, with a state-of-the-art infrastructure, Narayanan said.
He stressed that his country, as well as the company he represents, sees Serbia as its gateway to Europe.
