Merkur in Vrnjacka Banja champion of health tourism


Medical Center Merkur in Vrnjacka Banja as the champion of health tourism in South Eastern Europe (SEE) and Belgrade in the category of cultural tourism are the winners of Golden Tourist Heart awards, according to the jury of the International center for tourism and hospitality development Sacen International.

As part of the campaign to choose the most successful in SEE tourism, Greece was named the best tourist destination, and the Croatian city of Opatija was selected as the best holiday spot in the SEE region.

The champion of sports tourism is Banja Luka in Republika Srpska, and the best training center in the region is Hotel Education Center Milocer in Montenegro, the international jury decided.

The Golden Cup of Hospitality went to Portoroz, Slovenia, restaurant “Sesir Moj” in Skadarlija, the main bohemian quarter in downtown Belgrade, was declared the best restaurant, and Hamid Hadzic from Sarajevo, BiH, won a recognition for his culinary art.

The Radovan Brankov Award for the best travel reporter will be presented to Bojan Pandurovic in Vienna, and Personality of the Year in the area of travel journalism is Mihajlo Bercek from Novi Sad.

Serbia's Guca won the Special Award for 55 years in the SEE event tourism.

The award presentation ceremony will be held April 24 in Belgrade's “Sesir Moj” restaurant, which will mark the start of the summer tourist season in Skadarlija.
