NBS buys EUR 40 million, exchange rate at RSD 120.2381
The exchange rate of the Serbian dinar will remain unchanged on Wednesday since the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) made an intervention on the inter-bank foreign exchange market on Tuesday and purchased EUR 40 million, thus setting the official exchange rate at RSD 120.2381, NBS released.
The value of the Serbian national currency against the common eurozone currency would be higher on Wednesday by 2 percent compared to its standing a month ago, while its value would be lower by 3.6 percent relative to the exchange rate a year ago.
The Serbian dinar strengthened against the U.S. dollar by 0.1 percent, thus setting the indicative exchange rate at RSD 106.0862.
The dinar strengthened against the U.S. currency by 2 percent on the monthly level, but it dropped by 20.5 percent on the annual level.
Including the Tuesday transaction, NBS sold EUR 90 million and purchased EUR 120 million on the inter-bank foreign exchange market since the beginning of the year so as to prevent excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate.
