Japan gaining back strategic initiative in Asia

A proposition for dealing with the territorial issues in Asia in which Japan is taking a leading role shows the impact of Shinzo Abe policies. By taking bold initiatives in economic matters and national issues the Japan PM created the image of a powerful leader. The idea brokered by the writers is that a compromise in a minor territorial issue as is the territorial dispute between South Korea and Japan over the Takeshima/Dokdo Islands could be a strategic move that will put Japan in a favorable position in its other territorial disputes with China and Russia thus giving the tune for more compromise in other similar issues in the region.
