The Croatian government intends to set up a fund to rescue private companies in difficulty due to the crisis with the idea of guaranteeing financing and credit for those with an outlook of survival or nationalising several companies to save jobs. The news was reported today by the daily Zagreb newspaper, Jutarnji list, quoting several sources close to the government. Advisors to Premier Jadranka Kosor, representatives from business peoples associations and delegates from the countrys major banks are working on the definition of the model of the fund. According to information that is still to be confirmed, the fund should consist of 1.3 billion euros, 140 million of which from the State, whilst the rest will be gathered from the consortium of banks.
