Sofia names bidders for 2nd unit of waste treatment plant
Six companies have filed offers to build Sofia’s food and green waste composting installation, the municipal authorities said.
The facility forms part of the capital’s waste processing project which includes also a waste plant. It has an indicative cost of BGN 41 million and will be sited near Dolni Bogrov, in the south.
Among the candidates is Road Construction Equipment, part of Holding Roads. The holding company is also on the list of nine bidders that submitted offers to build Sofia’s waste plant at an indicative cost of BGN 229 million.
Building company Glavbolgarstroy has also filed bids for both tenders. The other candidates are Italian Daneco and Bulgarian Valmex as well as Austria’s Strabag and Germany’s Eggersmann & Co and Componere.
Participants in the tender are required to have annual turnover of a bottom BGN 40 million for each of the past three years. They are also required to have developed at least one similar project with a capacity to handle 10,000 tonnes of waste per year.
The bids will be unsealed on January 11.
The main selection criteria are the construction and the operating costs. The facility should be up and running in 2011.
